History Belief

I believe History should be more of a focus on education for younger people, along with teaching it in a context of current events. Mactac

don't you think all education should be continual and all should cover past (history) to present? Thinker: possibly, but I was speaking about history specifically. 
How can young people understand the breadth of history when they have so little life experience? Thinker: This is why there needs to be more focus on history in education 
What would be the benefits of youth gaining an appreciation of history, and do you think there are any topics that would be especially beneficial? Explorer: It's not an appreciation of history, it's knowing the past so they can make better decisions. The younger generation will be in charge at some point. 
In order for people to understand history, to understand what has happened in the past they need to somehow relate to it personally? Thinker: I don't think so. We need to know the past to succeed in the future. This is less about personal events, and more about the good of society/the world. 
Isn't one of the problems that the kids in the class lose interest if they can't relate to what is being taught? Thinker: Waiting for believer to respond.
